You acknowledge and agree that Mean Cat Entertainment may decline or delay reservations to avoid oversubscription or as it deems appropriate, provided that we will make efforts to inform you within two (2) weeks of our receipt of your Pre-Order, and that you will be entitled to a full refund of the purchase Price.

 

Who is covered?

This warranty is extended only to the original end-use purchaser or the person receiving the product as a gift, and shall not be extended to any other person or transferee.

 

What is covered and for how long?

Unless a different warranty period is stated in the documentation provided with your Mean Cat Entertainment product, for a period of 1 years from the date of retail purchase by the original end-use purchaser, Mean Cat Entertainment warrants that this product, when delivered to you in new condition, in original packaging, from an authorized Mean Cat Entertainment reseller and used in normal conditions, is free from any defects in manufacturing, materials and workmanship.

 

What is the expiration date of your warranty?

The date of manufacture and the expiration date of the warranty can be referenced from purchase receipt. If you have previously registered your product, the extended warranty will be taken into consideration. If you haven’t registered your product but still have proof of purchase, the limited warranty expire 1 year after the date of purchase by the original end-use purchaser.

 

What is not covered?

This warranty does not cover defects resulting from improper or unreasonable use or maintenance; failure to follow operating instructions; accident; excess moisture; lightning; power surges; connections to improper voltage supply; unauthorized alteration or modification of original condition; damages caused by inadequate packing or shipping procedures; loss of, damage to or corruption of stored data; product that requires modification or adaptation to enable it to operate in any country other than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or repair of products damaged by these modifications; and products purchased from unauthorized dealers

 

What must you do?

If you are having trouble with a product, before seeking limited warranty service, first follow the troubleshooting procedures that Mean Cat Entertainment or your reseller provides. To obtain limited warranty service, you must first obtain a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) and request a shipping location address nearest you. You must return the covered hard disk drive using approved packaging to our logistics center. You must pay any associated transportation charges, duties and insurance in shipping the drive to our logistics center. You should remove all personal information from the product prior to its return.

 

What will we do?

During the warranty period, we will, at our sole option, repair or replace any defective parts within a reasonable period of time and free of charge. We may replace your product with a product that was previously used, repaired and tested to meet Mean Cat Entertainment specifications. You are responsible for importation of the replacement product, if applicable. For any products that include a drive, we will not return the original drive; therefore, you are responsible for moving data to other media before returning. Data recovery is not covered under this limited warranty and is not part of the returns process. Mean Cat Entertainment warrants that the replacement product is covered for the remainder of the original product warranty or 90 days, whichever is greater.

 

What we will not do?

Pay shipping, insurance or transportation charges from you to us, or any import fees, duties and taxes.

 

International policies

For warranty issues, customers should return damaged units to the country where they were purchased. If a customer prefers to have a product repaired in a country other than where they purchased it, then there may be an additional fee. Although this would not apply to Mean Cat Entertainment USA. Mean Cat Entertainment USA will repair or replace any unit bought anywhere in the world for free as long as it is still under warranty. However, warranty claims outside of the US will require that the customer pay shipping both ways as well as any duty, taxes, etc. and return the product to our authorized service center in Taiwan.

 

Other conditions

THE PROVISIONS OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY ARE IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTY, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, WRITTEN OR ORAL, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. MEAN CAT ENTERTAINMENT’S MAXIMUM LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE ACTUAL PURCHASE PRICE PAID BY YOU FOR THE PRODUCT. IN NO EVENT SHALL MEAN CAT ENTERTAINMENT BE LIABLE FOR LOSS, DAMAGE TO OR CORRUPTION OF STORED DATA, OR FOR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INDIRECT DAMAGES HOWSOEVER CAUSED INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE REPLACEMENT OF EQUIPMENT AND PROPERTY, AND ANY COSTS OF RECOVERING, PROGRAMMING OR REPRODUCING ANY PROGRAM OR DATA STORED IN OR USED WITH YOUR AKITIO PRODUCT. This warranty is void if the label bearing the serial number has been removed or defaced.
